How To: Get the Signature Magnum Manicure!

At Magnum ice cream HQ, we believe indulgence is a fashion statement – all the way from a must-have leopard print bag to donning perfectly polished nails. Did you see our post last week showing our signature Magnum manicures created by celebrity manicurist Lisa Logan at the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference?

We want everyone to get in on the glam look, so we asked Lisa Logan to share her behind the scenes tips for how to get the Magnum-inspired manicure using Nails Inc. products.

Here are the step by step instructions, and be sure to tweet us your Magnum-fied nails! (Special thanks to lovely blogger Fashion-Isha for acting as our hand model for the demo!)

Step 1: Make sure your nails are smooth and prep with a base coat, such as Nails Inc. Kensington Caviar Base Coat.

Step 2: Paint nails with two coats of Nails Inc. Cadogan Square. We’re obsessed with this caramel-colored shade that’s been used on the runways of some of the top global fashion houses.

Step 3: Before applying the coat of crackle, wait until nail polish is completely dry. The crackle won’t work correctly if nails are not dry first, says Lisa.

Step 4: Apply Nails Inc. Farringdon Gold Special Effects Crackle Top Coat. For best use, apply the crackle in one smooth coat without brushing over the same area twice. Lisa notes this will make sure the crackle polish can best work its nail art magic.

Step 5: To make the crackle fully pop, apply a clear top coat. We used Nails Inc. Kensington Caviar Top Coat. This will give the crackle polish a razzle-dazzle pop and help nails dry in a flash.

This stylish manicure is sure to perfectly complement your fingertips while showing off your favorite Fashion Week indulgence in photos – what flavor of Magnum ice cream will you pair them with?

Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference & Magnum Manicures

What is New York Fashion Week without a little indulgence, right? To kick-off the fashion-forward fete, Magnum ice cream sponsored the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference last week on September 7. We met a TON of amazing bloggers, listened to incredibly intelligent panelists from the world of fashion and treated attendees to signature Magnum-inspired manicures throughout the day.

If you’re not familiar with the Independent Fashion Bloggers network (IFB), it’s a social network of over 25,000 fashion bloggers worldwide. Since 2009, the IFB conference at New York Fashion Week has grown into an essential event for empowering the blogging community. Magnum ice cream was thrilled to join 325 bloggers this fall at Milk Studios in New York City. Speakers who wowed the crowd included Leandra Medine of Man Repeller, Ari Goldberg from StyleCaster, John Jannuzzi of Textbook, and the sensational Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle who was interviewed by Tina Craig of Bag Snob. Needless to say, we were in awe for most of the day!

During the conference, we served up small indulgences, including delicious ice cream bars, signature manicures by celebrity nail stylist Lisa Logan featuring exclusive designs from Minx Nails and Nails Inc and a DIY nail bar. Take a look at the manicures below and let us know what you think!

These custom Magnum Minx Nails are inspired by one of the eight designs in Lisa’s “Minx Professional for Lisa Logan” line, which launched in early 2011. Fans of Minx Nails include celebrities and design houses alike.

Like Magnum ice cream, Nails Inc is an affordable indulgence and has also recently launched in the U.S. The signature Magnum manicure uses Cadogan Square, a chic, soft camel shade and Farringdon, a gold glitter crackle top coat to create an eye-catching textured nail. This autumn’s key trend is camel. Effortlessly chic and ultra luxurious, camel shades have graced several catwalks this fall.

And of course, let’s not forget some of the most inspiring part of the whole conference – all of the chic bloggers who stopped by to meet us!

Thank you to everyone for coming by to relax and recharge during the conference. If you came by our lounge at IFB, tell us about your experience in comments.
